have nothing to do with deceivers

There are lots of passages in Scripture that I find very interesting. Some seem very controversial and I have never heard anyone teach on them.

One such passage is a rather obscure one located all the way back in 2John 10-11.  The Lord has brought this one to my attention numerous times in my own life.

If anyone comes to your meeting and does not teach the truth about Christ, don’t invite that person into your home or give any kind of encouragement.  Anyone who encourages such people becomes a partner in their evil work.  NLT

Today we have all kinds of people teaching and declaring all kinds of things.  Some are on a small scale and others are on national and international TV.

Some deny Jesus as the only way to God and preach another saviour but some profess Christianity and come in the name of the Lord. Many are deceivers.

It is not wise to try to correct a deceiver. He will turn and devour you with arguments and ridicule. He is good at it.

The best strategy is to get away from him and speak Truth from your own platform with a mega horn.

Some will heed your voice and some will not.

This scripture makes it our individual responsibility to make a rather public renunciation of false teaching. We are to separate ourselves from it and those who peddle it.

We are to refuse it access into our homes and lives.

True love for God and for the brethren will not succumb to peer pressure and accept or endorse in any way the combination of twisted scriptures, lies laced with truth and stage presence.  Not in word or deed.

Because your presence can give strength and encouragement to that which is not of God, this may mean quietly walking out of some places with all eyes fastened on your exit and a feeling of daggers in your back.

This may mean a very open and honest discussion with those who don’t see what you see. This may mean a shaking of dust from your feet.

This may mean having a reputation of being rather “judgmental and critical”.  This may mean your circle of friends gets smaller. This may mean loneliness.

Our allegiance must be to Truth and not to peace at any cost!

Jesus said: “‘Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. ” Mathew 7:13, 14 NKJ

About Geneva

The road in my rear view mirror is marked by hard places. My Guide has been faithful. He came into my life and I was branded. Marked. Labeled. Ridiculed. Judged. Stoned. But the road ahead always looks grand and full of light! The furnaces from the past have only caused the fire of His Spirit to burn hotter. The edicts of man have tried many times to make me bend in worship to him, yet I have met the true Flame who delivers me in every furnace!
